Soundscape composed for an installation at the Object Gallery in Surry Hills to showcase the Shackleton Epic. The installation was coordinated by Arup, being a major sponsor of the expedition.
The composition uses hydrophone recordings made by one of Arup’s acousticians that accompanied the voyage. The recordings include ice shelves cracking and whales feeding amongst other antarctic sounds. The soundscape was played back throughout the gallery space to evoke a watery memory of the expedition.
